Creatives

Creatives are the HTML5 banners displayed to survey participants. Each study requires creatives in two sizes for each group type.

Banner Sizes

Utiq Pulse supports two standard banner sizes.

Standard Creative Set

For a basic study, you need 4 creatives: 300x250 Exposed, 300x250 Control, 300x600 Exposed, 300x600 Control. Use 'Generate Standard Creatives' to create all 4 at once.

Creative Wizard

The creative wizard guides you through banner creation in 4 steps.

Step 1: Basics

Set the creative name, select size (300x250 or 300x600), and choose the group type (Exposed, Control, or Test Group)

Select a design template for your banner

Step 3: Design

Customize colors, layout, typography, and banner texts with a live preview

Step 4: Preview & Save

Review the final design with interactive buttons and save your creative

Banner Texts

Customize texts to increase response rates:

Header text (e.g., 'Your opinion matters!')
Subheader text (e.g., 'Just 5 seconds')
Privacy note (e.g., '100% anonymous')
Thank you message (shown after response)
Footer link with custom text and URL

Answer Randomization

Enable 'Randomize Answers' to shuffle answer order on each impression.

Recommended for

Multiple choice questions with brand names (e.g., brand awareness surveys)

Not recommended for

Scale questions (1-5) or ordered responses (very good/good/bad)

Export banners for programmatic advertising platforms like Google DV360 and The Trade Desk.

Equativ Buyer Connect Export

The Equativ HTML export is specifically designed for Equativ Buyer Connect (DSP). It uses the {click_url} macro which Equativ replaces with their click tracking URL at delivery time.

Equativ Click Reporting

Each survey response counts as one click in Equativ reporting. This lets you track response rates directly in Equativ without needing access to Utiq Pulse reports.

Navigate to the creative detail page

Click Export

Click 'DSP Export' or 'Download' button

Upload to DSP

Upload the ZIP file to your DSP platform

File Size Warning

Keep your creative under 200KB for optimal DSP compatibility. The export tool will warn you if your file exceeds this limit.

Tracking & Response Validation

Utiq Pulse uses export tokens to distinguish between real DSP-served responses and test/preview responses. This ensures your reports only include genuine survey data.

How It Works

Each time you export a creative for a DSP platform, a unique token is generated and embedded in the banner HTML. When a user responds to the survey, the tracking system validates this token to determine the response status.

Export Tokens

Export tokens are the mechanism that validates whether a response comes from a real DSP-served banner.

Each DSP export generates a unique token
Tokens never expire — banners remain valid indefinitely
Re-exporting a creative creates a new token while keeping old tokens valid
Tokens are generated automatically during DSP export — no manual steps required

Multiple Exports

If you export the same creative multiple times (e.g., for different DSP campaigns), each export gets its own token. All previously exported banners continue to work and produce active responses.

Filtering in Reports

Use the response status filter in Reports to separate real campaign data from test data.
